Job Title: Industrial Hygiene Specialist

What Will You Do?

As an IH Specialist, you will be responsible for organizing and conducting workplace measurements according to the company's annual IH plan and measurement strategy. You will analyze results, identify deviations, and propose improvements to make processes more efficient and compliant while ensuring continuous improvement.


Your Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation and Planning of Exposure Measurements:
  • Gather information about work processes, activities, and technical control measures.
  • Conduct qualitative risk assessments in accordance with laws, regulations, and company standards.
  • Develop measurement strategies, plan equipment usage, and order necessary materials.
  • Coordinate with departments to schedule and conduct measurements, strictly adhering to deadlines and repeat schedules.

2. Conducting Exposure Measurements:

  • Measure employee exposure to workplace conditions, such as chemical substances and noise.
  • Observe, document, and photograph tasks with attention to relevant stress factors and control measures.
  • Use technical insights to assess the impact of behavior and control measures.

3. Sample Processing:

  • Package and store samples in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for sample shipment.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Process field observations, raw data, and photos into detailed and clear reports.
  • Analyze the data and identify potential norm violations. Report findings immediately.
  • Resolve discrepancies by contacting external laboratories and ensure accurate reporting.

5. Document Management:

  • Keep procedures and work instructions related to IH activities up to date.
  • Propose and implement improvements in consultation with colleagues.

6. Equipment Management:

  • Monitor calibration schedules for measurement equipment (outsourced to external parties).
  • Ensure equipment is available for scheduled measurements and report any issues.
  • Independently resolve equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues.


What Do You Bring?

  • REQUIRED: Excellent command of both Dutch and English. Candidates who do not speak Dutch will not be considered.
  • At least a completed Occupational Hygiene (MAH) education, MBO level 4, preferably MLO or higher.
  • Experience in occupational hygiene, industrial hygiene, or a similar field.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Independence, proactivity, and ownership of your work.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Stress-resistant and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
