Quality Assurance Specialist – Pet Food Industry

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our client's team in the pet food industry. This role is essential to ensuring our products meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintaining our high standards for quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate customer complaints, prepare reports, analyze trends, and recommend process improvements to reduce recurrence.
• Conduct and report on daily GMP, hygiene, and glass audits, authorizing factory release and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and environmental teams to resolve quality-related issues, including fabrication close-outs, water testing, and foreign body risk assessments.
• Maintain and update quality checks, KPIs, and documentation within the quality management system, including traceability exercises and mock recalls.
• Participate in internal audits, HACCP activities, and food safety culture initiatives while supporting continuous improvement across the site.
• Prepare and send customer reports as required, and provide cover for quality team members when needed.

• Timely closure of complaint investigations
• Reduction in customer complaints

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a QA role, preferably in the pet food or food industry
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and quality assurance principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software
