The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) systems on-site, ensuring they meet both legal and company standards. You will collaborate closely with the operational teams to identify risks, conduct audits, and implement safety procedures. Your role will include investigating safety incidents, conducting regular safety inspections, and organizing safety training to ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

You will be tasked with maintaining the site’s EHS management systems, ensuring that these meet all relevant legal and customer requirements. A major part of your role will involve coordinating risk assessments and legal compliance audits, ensuring proper documentation and timely follow-up actions.

Additionally, you will analyze data from risk assessments, accidents, and near-miss reports to update senior management on necessary improvements. Investigating incidents and tracking the resulting action items will be key responsibilities, ensuring that safety measures are effectively followed.

You will also chair safety meetings, organize training for staff, and ensure that emergency preparedness measures, such as coordinating the BHV team, are up to date and functional. Conducting internal EHS audits, regular workplace inspections, and safety tours will round out your responsibilities, always working towards creating a safer and more efficient working environment for everyone.


Worktimes:

Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00 hours. You have to be flexible to work in different hours if requested.


Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an EHS role, ideally within a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labor laws and machine safety directives.
  • Familiar with ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems.
  • Experience in internal auditing (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001).
  • Proficient with MS Office applications and strong communication skills.
