Supply Chain Specialist - Trade Compliance | 67.230€ per year | Hybrid | Hoofddorp
Join a major Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical company in Hoofddorp as a Supply Chain Specialist - Trade Compliance.
Role:
You'll own the end-to-end import/export compliance process across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, working alongside brokers, corporate Trade Compliance, and cross-functional stakeholders to keep global shipments of fundamental pharmaceutical products and supplies moving and fully compliant.
Offer:
- Salary: 67.230€ per year, based on 40h;
- Location: Hoofddorp;
- Contract: 6 months contract;
- Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days onsite required;
- Working Schedule: 9:00h – 17:00h, Monday – Friday;
Key Responsibilities:
Import/Export Operations
- Manage end-to-end import/export transactions across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC — coordinating with Trade Compliance, logistics teams, and brokers.
- Assign HTS/ECCN classifications, maintain the database, reconcile customs entries, and administer recordkeeping including COO determination.
- Resolve broker requests and PGA issues swiftly to ensure on-time clearance.
Trade Compliance & Regulatory
- Lead Trade Compliance processes across regions, ensuring alignment with EMA, US IMEX, and local government regulations.
- Screen against Denied Parties Lists, apply BTI rulings, and configure VAT entry transmission with Global Tax.
- Implement compliance frameworks in new countries as the business expands.
Process Improvement & Enablement
- Develop and roll out compliance policies, procedures, WIs, training materials, and audits.
- Act as liaison between operations, IT, and cross-functional teams for system configuration and maintenance.
- Deliver Trade Compliance training and present findings and action plans to peers and management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MLO with 10+ years in customs and trade compliance, OR a BSc in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering with equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of HTS/ECCN classification, Incoterms, COO determination, and customs brokerage operations.
- Hands-on experience with EMEA, US IMEX, and multi-regional trade compliance frameworks (LATAM and/or APAC a plus).
- Proven ability to independently resolve complex compliance issues, manage PGA requests, and work with government agencies.
- Strong data analysis skills — ability to draw conclusions from metrics and translate them into action.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to management.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
