Job Title: QC Microbiology Analyst (Microbiologist I)

Employment Type: Contract (12 months) — full-time
We are hiring a QC Microbiology Analyst (Microbiologist I) for a leading biotech/pharma manufacturing environment in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. In this role you will support GMP Quality Control Microbiology testing and cleanroom environmental monitoring, helping ensure safe, compliant manufacturing of advanced therapies in a fast-paced setting.
What you’ll do
- Perform environmental monitoring (EM) of cleanrooms (air, surface, water sampling as applicable).
- Execute microbiological assays including Endotoxin (LAL), Sterility, Bioburden, and plate reading.
- Perform data entry, review, and trending of results in line with GMP requirements.
- Support routine maintenance of lab equipment and lab spaces (cleanliness, checks, basic troubleshooting).
- Contribute to department projects and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other QC microbiology tasks as required by the team lead.
What you bring
- MLO level 3 / MLO4+ or Bachelor (BSc) in Microbiology (preferred).
- 0–4 years of QC Microbiology / Environmental Monitoring experience (preferred).
- Practical experience with microbiological techniques such as air monitoring, water testing, and surface monitoring.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and cleanroom operations.
- Comfortable with gowning, cleanroom entry and supporting activities; able to lift approx. 12 kg.
- Knowledge of GMP, regulations, and quality control processes.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- English communication skills required (minimum B1). (Dutch not required.)
- Able to work flexibly in a changing, fast-paced environment and adjust priorities when needed.
- Important: Must be willing to focus on sampling activities for the first 12 months.

- Interview process: 30-minute on-site interview.
- Work environment: GMP QC lab + cleanroom support in a collaborative team (20+ QC analysts).
- Schedule: 18-week shift schedule (details shared during the process).
